Dropping the Mic on 2016
If you visit our blog regularly, then you’ve likely seen how data governance is vital to the smooth running of any business. Although financial services organizations were among the first to realize the importance of establishing a data governance infrastructure, we’re seeing that more and more industries are recognizing the value it can bring. Of course, regulatory compliance often hastens this recognition. And with the GDPR regulation deadline coming up in less than 18 months, even those not in the know are now turning their attention to how they manage data, both professionally and personally.
This growing awareness has led to an increased focus on the market sector. And, we’re pleased to announce that Collibra has been ranked number 58 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ EMEA list. This is a list of the 500 fastest-growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and energy tech companies in EMEA. Inclusion in the list is tangible proof of data governance’s growing role as a critical part of any modern business processes.
We can attribute the quick growth rate of Collibra in part to a more consumer-focused approach to managing and handling data. We anticipate that 2017 will see continued expansion in the data governance field. Businesses of all sizes are coming to grips with the idea that for them to survive (and thrive) they must realize how data has now become a strategic business asset.
Speaking of the awards, Paul Sallomi, vice chairman, Deloitte LLP and global technology, media and telecommunications industry leader commented: “Innovation is more than technological advancement; it’s also a state of mind. The winners of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ program in EMEA recognize that this new type of thinking is essential for business success. We look forward to your continued leadership in introducing new tools that can enhance the personal lives of consumers, and drive growth for companies worldwide.”
This is the second time in as many months that Deloitte has recognized Collibra as a fast growing company. In November, Deloitte awarded the “Best Software” category to Collibra in the Technology Fast 50 award, which honors companies headquartered in Belgium that have experienced substantial revenue growth over the last four years. We have a fantastic team in place in Belgium, the US, the UK, and beyond, delivering great results for our clients. This recognition caps off a great 2016.
