Principal User Experience Designer

Joining Collibra’s Product Design Organization

  • We are hiring a principal product designer to join us as we transform the product experience at Collibra. 
  • Reporting to the VP of Product Design, we are looking for someone who can work at both the vision and the pixel level, work across boundaries to both inspire and gain alignment, and who wants to help us grow and mature our design organization. 
  • We’re being bold in our thinking about how to transform the enterprise user experience, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited about the opportunity to help us drive real change to our product, and to our organization. 

Principal Product Designer’s at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Partner with Collibra’s senior leaders across product, engineering and design to create and drive our experience vision and strategy for the product
  • Create design artifacts to imagine the possible, and to deliver the polish needed for today
  • Guide, coach, mentor designers across the organization, including establishing and modeling design review/critique best practices
  • Collaborate with the design system team on maturing our design system, and bringing more consumer patterns to the enterprise
  • Drive new approaches to how we design at Collibra, including prototyping, inclusive design practices, mobile first and experimentation

You have:

  • 8+ years of experience leading through your craft, and working on design problems at scale
  • A exceptional portfolio highlighting both conceptual work as well as the polish expected to deliver engaging and appealing user experiences
  • Experience and a desire to mentor designers, and help design teams uplevel their craft
  • Experience presenting and representing design work to senior executives
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

You are:

  • An impactful influencer through your craft, interested in solving complex product challenges through good design 
  • Known for your collaboration skills, and for being skilled working across boundaries
  • Curious and comfortable seeking other perspectives

Measures of success:

  • Within your first month: Complete onboarding and dive deep into understanding our products, and get to know our team
  • Within your second month: Understand major product design team priorities and opportunities and participate in design team activities across the organization
  • Within your third month:  Help shape our future direction, engage in design work

Compensation for this role 

The standard base salary range for this position is $184,000.00 - $276,000.00 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.

In addition to base salary, we offer equity ownership at every level, bonus potential, a Flex Fund monthly stipend, pension/401k plans, and more.
