Senior Software Engineer AI/ML

Joining Collibra’s Artificial Intelligence team

We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer who will assist in delivering Artificial Intelligence solutions which improve our customer’s experience and enable informed, effective decision making. We are looking for someone excited about working on cutting edge technologies to help build these pragmatic, performant AI solutions.  You’ll partner with a team of builders around the world, characterized by a love for innovative technology, a desire to solve problems, and a never-ending goal to build simple, elegant products that delight customers and simplify all levels of data engagement. You will be working primarily with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Machine Learning Operation Engineers as well as other departments at Collibra.

Senior Software Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

• Actively participating in team meetings and sharing ideas
• Knowing your own code by preparing for code reviews and being able to justify design patterns used
• Understanding user personas impacted by code with well defined user stories and concrete inputs and outputs
• Writing clear, measurable test cases to validate user stories and assert output on positive and negative results

You have:

• 7+ years experience with building large, scalable web applications
• Experience in both backend (Java and Spring) and web frontend (Javascript, Typescript, React) technologies
• Experience with data science programming languages (preferably Python) and a high-level understanding of data science concepts
• Experience with DevOps container, orchestration, and cloud storage technologies (preferably Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and GCP)
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

You are:

• Familiar with Kubernetes, Docker, and relational databases
• Passionate about quality, good design and clean code
• Willing to share knowledge and continue learning
• Able to face challenges and problem solve with an agile mindset
• Broadly interested in technology and have the capability to adapt to new technologies

Measures of success:

• Within your first month, you will get familiar with our software environment, the way we implement software as an organization, participate in virtual stand-up’s, simple business use cases, and submit your first code to production
• Within your first third months, you will implement new user stories with quality and care, and determine what value they will bring to our customers. You will recognize areas for improvement and begin to propose ideas to the team during stand-ups
• Within your first sixth months, you will be a key part of the AI Engineering team, regularly delivering quality back and front-end code, participating in testing, and providing constructive input on the design and approaches taken to improve our software
