Vice President, Core Platform Engineering
Meeting your future team
Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you will be leading the team responsible for the development and technical optimization of the platform powering Collibra’s Data Intelligence Cloud. At the intersection of our developers and our customers, you will partner with product and architecture to define, prioritize, and deliver a secure, scalable, deployable, upgradable, and resilient platform, as well as determine the future-facing technical strategy. You will be both the champion of both our internal and external customers, embrace and drive change as a transformative, operational leader, and ensure alignment through open, direct, and kind discussions.
The VP, Core Platform Engineering is responsible for:
- Leading Collibra’s PaaS engineering team spanning multiple product features - from Collaboration, to Search, Mobile, AI & ML, Devtools, Workflows, IAM, API Management, and more
- Assessing, transforming, and delivering engineering processes and cultures that support and enable building and running multi-cloud software at scale for high-rate consumption
- Partnering with Product Management, Architecture, Production Engineering and QA to enable velocity and consistency of engineering innovation via Collibra’s internal Platform and developer toolkit
- Interacting with executives and/or customers to continually evolve our PaaS roadmap and strategy
- Influencing long-term vision and strategy for the Platform & Production Engineering organizations
You have:
- Led global teams of 70+ engineers delivering cloud-native multi-tenant software supported by agile development practices
- At least 5+ years in a role that includes customer-facing responsibilities, specific to enterprise customers ; you must know how to engineer simple products for complex enterprises
- Led teams who have built and deployed highly-scalable, microservices-based SaaS platforms for enterprise customers, including IAM and API solutions
- Built and run internal developer platforms, tooling, and processes to support real-time continuous releases
- 12+ years working with Java, 10+ years with GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Experience with modern CI/CD processes, K8s, and containerization
- 10+ years management experience, and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

- Well-versed in the technical and business advantages of private, public, and private clouds, IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, cloud native architectures, containerization, micro-services, Jenkins, Docker, Go,
- Motivated by building for elastic enterprise scale and engineering excellence, and gravitate toward the technical and leadership challenges that come with it
- Customer-obsessed; you realize the importance of security, reliability, scalability and performance, and know that at the enterprise level and the internal level, all Customer use cases are meaningful; today’s needs are a way to address tomorrow’s opportunities
- A process and scale-minded individual, who knows how to strike a balance of agility and speed vs process and maturity
- Based in, or planning to move to, the East Coast or Central Timezones if within the US
Compensation for this role
The standard base salary range for this position is $270,000 - $340,000 per year. This position is not eligible for additional commission-based compensation. Salary offers are based on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, and location.
In addition to base salary, we offer equity ownership at every level, bonus potential, a Flex Fund monthly stipend, pension/401k plans, and more.
