Senior Product Manager II, Search

Joining Collibra’s Product Management team:

We are looking for a data- and results-driven product manager to join the Collibra Product Management team to Lead with Confidence our efforts in building one of the most comprehensive, performant and intelligent metadata search platforms. This person will be reporting directly to the Senior Director of Product Management. We are looking for an individual that can Be the Customer’s Champion by connecting the dots between business and user needs with the technical details of search algorithms and optimization. The ideal candidate will Embrace and Drive Change through defining a product roadmap and features to build a core search platform, and to execute on that plan with their development team. To accomplish this, the Technical Product Manager, Search will on a regular basis:

  • Connect with and gather feedback from external stakeholders including customers and partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including other development teams consuming the search platform, and other technical teams.
  • Work closely with our data and operations teams to collect and measure search performance.
  • Present roadmap and initiatives both internally and externally, provide data and metrics to help define priorities and new product opportunities.

Technical Product Managers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Developing a product feature strategy, roadmap and leading planning and execution. 
  • Owning product delivery commitments and outcomes by managing the backlog and milestones of the corresponding teams
  • Representing the customer for the engineering team. 
  • Collaborating with the product team including marketers, architects, and designers. Tracking and managing progress, risks, and dependencies of product deliverables to understand your product feature.
  • Understanding our customer pain points and industry trends to provide new product ideas and make data driven decisions. 
  • Prioritizing the backlog while building relationships with key stakeholders and business partners, understanding the constraints.

You Have:

  • Prior experience as a product manager or technical product manager in the software industry
  • A technical background, or product experience in using search technologies and algorithms, such as ElasticSearch, Lucene, or Solr.
  • Experience defining and measuring search result relevance and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Proficiency and working knowledge of Agile development processes, CI/CD and SDLC models.
  • The ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent related working experience is required.

Measuring Success:

Reporting to the the Senior Director of Product Management, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will familiarize yourself and begin managing the current search backlog and begging working with the development team
  • Within your third month, you will begin influencing the roadmap for the search team’s longer term vision
  • Within your sixth month, you will represent Collibra as the search product expert in both internal and external opportunities
