We expect our Senior Test Engineers to have a good working knowledge of exploratory testing/context driven testing and understanding of what good test automation looks like.

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer who is a critical thinker and a powerful advocate for our users. You’ll be embedded in a fully cross functional team working closely with your teammates to determine what needs to be built, identify risks early and apply the appropriate test approach.

SDET, Test Engineering at Collibra are responsible for:

  • You will take part in testing activities in the Scrum Team and assist in the successful execution of testing strategies.
  • You will develop and promote the testing knowledge within an Agile team and provide needed help and assistance enabling developers to test.
  • You will share your experience on a variety of testing tools relevant to our business environment and drive experimentation towards further improvements.
  • You will define and maintain metrics and promote testing awareness within Engineering.
  • You will promote a shift-left approach in testing across Engineering.
  • You will drive Test Data definition and develop scalable frameworks and tools to solve the problems
  • Reviewing requirement specifications and user stories to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  • Designing, development and execution of automation scripts and Test Automation frameworks (Selenium Webdriver, Cypress, JMeter, Rest Assured)
  • Working on the continuous integration of your scripts (Jenkins) and driving the team on the way towards continuous testing
  • Identifying, documenting and tracking issues
  • Work closely with software/ test engineers and product managers across the organization to understand the context and drive automation and testing to meet objectives
  • Taking part in Exploratory Testing sessions - to help improving the overall Product Quality

You Have:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Test Automation area
  • Knowledge of software QA methodologies and tools (JIRA or similar) and processes 
  • Experience in Java and/or JavaScript and hands-on experience with automated testing tools (Selenium, Cypress, JMeter, Rest Assured, etc.)
  • Ability to identify flaws in the testing process, toolset, infrastructure and to propose and drive necessary improvements 

You Are:

  • Experienced in building Test Automation Frameworks and in continuous delivery/continuous testing environment
  • Experienced in building/maintaining CICD pipelines
  • Experienced in working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Able to identify testing and quality challenges and able to create innovative solutions
  • A person with great communication skills and who enjoys collaborating with fellow co-worker
  • Able to combine automation skills with manual part of testing (Exploratory)
  • Able to think independently with curiosity, criticism and keen attention to details
  • Well organized and accustomed to fast paced environment 

Reporting to Manager, Test Engineering, the measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will be onboarded with our products and practices and start getting insights into test strategy, team’s pain points, getting involved in your team’s testing practices.
  • Within your third month, you will you will have a good understanding of the team, their challenges and priorities
  • Within your sixth month, you will be a productive member of the global QA team, participating in testing, coaching and mentoring developers and testers on effective software testing practices
