G/L Accountant

Meeting your future team:

Collibra is looking for a GL-accountant to join our growing Accounting team in building a scalable, world-class Accounting function. You will support the team’s accounting efforts in organizing for scale and have global responsibilities in relation to payroll accounting. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-funded, high growth Belgian scale-up

G/L Accountants at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Global responsibility for Payroll Accounting, including:
    o   Monthly payroll postings
    o   Monthly payroll related balance sheet reconciliations
    o   Accruals (bonus, commission, vacation, one-off payments and other benefits) 
    o   Quarterly reconciliations between P&L and payroll attestations
  • Assisting during the monthly and year-end closing process related to your global responsibilities
  • Business partnering with the People Team
  • Interacting with the external group auditor in relation to your global responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up payroll accounting for new geo’s
  • Assist in implementing improvements to our processes and accounting ERP system

You Have:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance, plus 3+ years of experience
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Dutch; other regional languages a plus
  • Knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with NetSuite and FloQast are a plus

  • Detail oriented with high level of accuracy
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced global environment with a "roll-up the sleeves" approach in order to accomplish all variety of tasks
  • A team player, who can also work independently

Measuring Success:

  • Within the first month, you’ll have a good understanding of Collibra’s global structure 
  • Within the first three months, you’ll have a good working understanding of Collibra’s payroll accounting and country specific requirements
  • Within the first six months, you’ll own the month-end tasks related to monthly payroll postings and assist in implementing efficiencies and processes
