Tax Manager - EMEA

Joining Collibra’s Tax team:

Collibra is looking for a Tax Manager to join our growing team and help build the processes needed to support the rapid growth at the company.   In this new role, you will report to the Head of Tax based in the US, and will be an integral part of shaping the corporate tax function at Collibra.  Living Collibra’s value of “Embrace and Drive Change”, you’ll be in a hands-on, roll up your sleeves position, improving processes and creating order.

A Tax Manager at Collibra is responsible for:

  • Managing third party tax advisors in the preparation of tax compliance obligations in Belgium and other EMEA jurisdictions and interfacing with the accounting team for the collection and analysis of financial data
  • Assisting with the preparation of the global tax provision under US GAAP and Belgian GAAP, including valuation allowance and uncertain tax positions, and the development and performance of internal controls related to the tax provision process
  • Partnering with the global tax team on transfer pricing, structuring, M&A and other tax planning projects
  • Managing, investigating and resolving EMEA based enquiries from tax authorities 
  • Advising with respect to regional indirect tax issues

You have:

  • At least 7 years of experience in Belgian corporate tax, with a combination of multinational corporations and public accounting; knowledge of other regional tax systems a plus
  • Solid understanding of tax accounting principles and relevant financial reporting requirements
  • Working knowledge of regional VAT and digital service tax rules and regulations
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Dutch; other regional languages a plus
  • System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases; experience with NetSuite, OneSource Tax Provision, and/or Avalara a plus

Measuring Success:

  • Within the first month, you’ll have a good understanding of Collibra’s global structure and resulting compliance and reporting obligations
  • Within the first three months, you’ll have jumped into some key initiatives and have a good working understanding of Collibra’s systems and data sources available to you
  • Within the first six months, you’ll be driving the EMEA tax compliance calendar and owning the related data gathering and analysis
