The launch of Snowflake Cortex AI has unlocked the ability to create powerful natural language analytics and AI agents. However, an AI agent operating without business context or legal boundaries is a significant enterprise risk.

At the Summit, we are unveiling how Collibra acts as the semantic context layer and the governance guardrail for Snowflake AI features:

• Enrich Collibra with Semantic View Metadata and Lineage: Automatically ingest Snowflake Semantic Views into Collibra to enable visibility, transparency and enable enterprise governance of Semantic View assets.

• Semantic enrichment for AI (Cortex Analyst): Semantic models governed in Collibra—aligned with the open, vendor-neutral Open Semantic Interchange (OSI) standard—can now be published into Snowflake as OSI documents or Snowflake Semantic Views. This powers accurate, business-ready, and compliant Cortex Analyst experiences grounded in trusted enterprise definitions.

• Context for Cortex Agents: Collibra's MCP Server delivers governed metadata and business context—including certifications, quality scores, and usage policies—to AI agents in real time, before they act. This helps ensure agents operate within enterprise policies and approved guardrails.

• AI Command Center integration with Cortex AI: Collibra AI Command Center provides the enterprise AI control layer, with automatic ingestion of Snowflake Cortex metadata we enable organizations real-time visibility across the full AI lifecycle including Snowflake Cortex.

Bi-directional integration with Snowflake Horizon Catalog

Closing the gap between experimentation and production requires governance that operates continuously. We are highlighting a new, bi-directional integration where governance policies and the data they protect are always in sync:

• Governance and policy enrichment: Business context and data attributes defined in Collibra flow natively into Snowflake. This makes governed metadata instantly accessible to Snowflake users and provides critical business insight and policy guardrails for enterprise-wide operations.
• Automated traceability: Technical metadata and technical lineage from Snowflake are automatically harvested into Collibra. This ensures the enterprise system of engagement is continuously updated with the latest technical reality of the data landscape.

Scalable data access management

Having data in the Data Cloud is only valuable if the right people can access it securely.

• Policies and fine-grained access controls managed, automated and audited in Collibra are natively provisioned in Snowflake.
• Access requests, policy enforcement and usage visibility are centralized, by which over-privileged access is reduced, provisioning is sped up, and compliance reporting is made far easier.
