Joining Collibra’s Product Reliability Engineering team
Join the Product Reliability Engineering team, a vital part of Collibra's Reliability Engineering & Operations (REO) group, and ensure the smooth and dependable performance of our critical applications and services. Reporting to the Senior Director, Reliability Engineering & Operations, you will lead a talented team of experts dedicated to solving and preventing incidents, optimizing performance, and ensuring a consistently excellent user experience. Your leadership will directly impact the reliability of our platform. As One Collibra, we collaborate closely with software engineering, REO teams, and product teams to establish a unified approach to reliability, which contributes to a positive customer experience and enables Collibra to scale effectively and efficiently to meet customers’ needs and expectations.
This is a hybrid role based in our Prague office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.
Senior SRE Managers at Collibra are responsible for
- Leading a team of Reliability Engineers to proactively identify and mitigate risks across our product suite in order to minimize incidents and improve application stability.
- Championing and guiding the development of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical applications and services in order to establish clear performance targets and improve overall system reliability.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering teams to integrate reliability best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC), resulting in more resilient and scalable applications from the outset.
- Drive the adoption of automation and monitoring tools to streamline incident response, identify potential issues, reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR), and proactively prevent outages.
- Mentor and develop Reliability Engineering team members to foster the growth of their technical skills and leadership capabilities, resulting in a high-performing and engaged team.
You have
- 7+ years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Software Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, overseeing a team of technical professionals in an enterprise SaaS environment with production customer workloads.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- 5+ years of experience in software development (Java, Go), with a focus on building and maintaining scalable, reliable SaaS systems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing monitoring and alerting solutions for production environments (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Datadog, Grafana).
- You must have work authorization to work in Prague, Czechia.
You are
- Skilled in analytical thinking, allowing you to effectively diagnose complex system issues and identify root causes.
- Knowledgeable about the principles of distributed systems (Kubernetes) and their impact on application reliability and performance.
- Data-driven (e.g. leveraging telemetry telemetry, KPIs) in your approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Proactive in managing application performance and enabling capacity planning through the analysis of observability data to ensure optimal resource utilization and predictable customer experience.
- Effective in communication and collaboration, enabling you to work cross-functionally with development, operations, and product teams.
Measures of success are
- Within your first month, you will have a good understanding of the team vision and roadmap.
- Within your third month, you will be driving the execution of the roadmap with minimal supervision including managing the product backlog for your scrum team.
- Within your sixth month, you will be the subject matter expert for interactions with other Collibra teams regarding your team’s scope.
