Today was all about the power of data. We kicked off with a keynote from Jim Cushman, our Chief Product Officer, on his product vision at Collibra. He discussed how the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud can unlock the power of data and help organizations uplevel their impact. But Jim’s keynote was only the tip of the iceberg. Here are some of my favorite sessions from day 2 of Data Citizens ‘21:
- Collibra product showcases: We dove deeper into our product with four product showcases hosted by our Product Managers. Attendees had the opportunity to ask our experts questions and see demos of Collibra Data Governance, Collibra Data Privacy, Collibra Data Quality, and Collibra Data Catalog. I loved hearing what is new with our products and where we are going in the future.
- Accelerating a data-driven information transformation: This session was my personal favorite because I got the opportunity to sit down with Jacklyn Osborne, Managing Director, Risk & Finance Technology Executive at Bank of America, in a fireside chat. We discussed driving growth and enabling data as an asset in the current environment. We also gave tips on becoming a successful data leader and shared our predictions for data in the future.
- The journey to data intelligence in life sciences & pharma: COVID-19 has really shown us the importance of life sciences and pharma. I loved watching this session with panelists from Edwards Lifesciences Corporation, and Gentech Inc., A Member of the Roche Group, who discussed how they built a foundation of data governance to power innovation. The panelists also elaborated on the various challenges that they have faced, how they are driving data literacy within their organization, and their vision for the future of data in life sciences.
- Insights Exchange: A conversation with Neil deGrasse Tyson: This session was definitely a show stopper and an out-of-this-world experience! Dr. Tyson has a unique ability to simplify complex topics, such as astrophysics, and make them accessible to all. He was joined by Tifenn Dano Kwan, our Chief Marketing Officer, to discuss breaking the boundaries of what’s possible in data and life. Really an inspiring session!
As I reflect on Data Citizens ‘21 I really am in awe! About 10 years ago, we attended our first trade show with a mini pull up booth and around 200 attendees. Today, we had over 6,000 attendees at Data Citizens ‘21. This is truly mind blowing. I would like to thank all our attendees, customer speakers, partners, industry professionals, and Collibrians who came together to make the best Data Citizens yet possible.
