What is FedRAMP?

FedRAMP is an initiative by the U.S. Federal Government that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

A FedRAMP authorization dramatically accelerates the security approval process within federal agencies. Due to the rigorous security requirements, many other government entities — including state, local and international governments — also prefer to work with authorized vendors.  This means that federal agencies can get to ATO faster.

A match: Collibra and federal agencies

Collibra’s FedRAMP authorization enables government agencies to quickly and securely use Collibra in a SaaS deployed environment.

With Collibra, federal agencies are empowered to increase visibility and access to the data they have, collaborate with their data in one centralized location, implement an automated and simplified way of managing data sharing agreements and third parties associated with them, accelerate data-driven decision making and ultimately improve citizen-facing services. As an open, extensible and API-first platform, Collibra can support a wide range of use cases and applications.

Additionally, Collibra can help federal agencies adhere to the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act.

Especially as agencies look to launch more AI initiatives, Collibra offers an approach to data governance — see our AI governance framework — that can serve as a foundation for AI strategies.

By leveraging Collibra, agencies can not only move faster to meet Evidence Act requirements, but also execute in the true spirit of the Evidence Act by using data as a strategic asset. As more government agencies aim to modernize processes and meet the necessary requirements to fulfill missions with technologies like generative AI, Collibra can shorten time to get up and running, drive maximum value and adherence to policy and regulatory requirements.
