  • Join our vibrant Software Engineering team at Collibra, where you'll lead a diverse and dedicated group of 5 to 7 highly engaged software engineers, contributing directly to the core of the Collibra Solution. 
  • Reporting to a member of the Senior Engineering leadership team, this multifaceted role demands excellent people management and organizational skills, combined with a solid technical foundation.

This is a hybrid position based in Brussels.

Software Engineering Managers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Lead a team of 5 to 7 software engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions following agile best practices.
  • Collaborate with your Product Management counterpart to align engineering efforts with business goals and customer needs.
  • Support your team members in growing their technical skills and developing their careers.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical designs to ensure scalability and performance.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to build a sense of ownership among team members.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or a related technical role.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or people management position within an engineering team.
  • Proficient in utilizing advanced software development tools and version control systems, such as GitHub and JIRA.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with distributed and diverse teams.

  • Collaboration: Keen to work on a diverse team, build networks, and promote collaboration.
  • Guidance: Ambitious to see team members develop their competencies and grow professionally.

Reporting to Senior Director, Software Engineering, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you meet your team members and key stakeholders, and get up-to-speed on Collibra’s products and practices.
  • Within your third month, you will lead your team’s Agile delivery, and have a solid understanding of your team’s challenges and priorities.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be able to fully define, prioritize and lead your team in line with Collibra’s vision and be fully independent in your role.
