Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack)

Joining Collibra’s Lineage Platform team

• Motto of the Lineage teams is “We need 10 minutes to document 10 years of your development”
• You will drive true value for our customers by helping replacing manual Data Lineage with an automated reverse engineering process provided by our teams
• You will join a team whose purpose is to implement the orchestration and the presentation layers of Collibra automated Lineage; your code will be coordinating the harvesting and processing of data from a multitude of heterogeneous sources to then present the results via beautiful interactive visualizations
• You will be working closely with other Lineage teams, helping standardize the Lineage platform, providing a reliable, highly scalable, resource-aware orchestration solution based on modern architectural design and industry best practices
• You will obsess over two keywords: scalability and usability

Backend engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

• You’ll be building exciting new features for the Collibra products, together with your team members (fellow engineers, QA, PMs, Architects, UX, Cloud, SRE, etc). This means that you’ll have the following responsibilities:
• Formulate and suggest new ideas and features to the team to further improve our products
• Discuss technical solutions with other engineers and the architecture team where and when necessary
• Implement the new functionalities with a passion for quality
• Review the code changes from your peers before they go into the main line in Git
• Interact closely with the QA engineers to ensure a TDD approach
• Celebrate your successes!

You have:

• 8+ years of experience building large and scalable web applications
• Strong backend experience with Python. Scala, Kotlin or Java experience is a nice plus. 
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Javascript, Typescript, React, GraphQL
• Solid experience with Relational Databases (preferably PostgreSQL or SQLite) and some tools like Jenkins, Gradle, Junit, Git
• At ease working on Unix-like platforms, proficient with terminal and scripting languages
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Pulsar, Kafka and database model optimization are a huge plus!

Measures of success are:

• Within your first month, you will get an understanding of tools and processes used by the development teams at Collibra. You will acquire domain knowledge about the most important areas
• Within your third month, you will be able to develop new functionalities
• Within your sixth month, you will be able to actively participate in the development process, by developing new functionalities, proposing new solutions and improvements for customers. You will extend your domain knowledge.
