Educational Software Engineer

Meeting your future team:

The Education Engineer will support the development and delivery of onboarding and ongoing education programs for our product and engineering team.

The Product & Engineering Enablement team is responsible for onboarding, ongoing education, product advancement, collaboration efforts and change management support for Collibra’s Product & Engineering community. 

Our goal is to provide a mix of live and self-paced programs that keep our product and engineering teams equipped with the latest skills and mindsets necessary to build and manage best in class products for our customers. Our programming ensures that they are up to date on the latest technologies, software, applications, product knowledge, collaboration efforts and processes. 

Reporting to the Director, Product & Engineering Enablement, the Education Engineer will work in conjunction with members of the team and other subject matter experts to build technical course materials including coding exercises, hands on activities, documentation, videos, presentations, etc. Educational Engineers will also be responsible for facilitating courses on topics such as new technology, software, architecture, coding languages, agile practices, etc.

Educational Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Experience as a practicing technologist in software engineering developing B2C or B2B products
  • Demonstrated ability in backend or front end engineering disciplines along with the willingness to become more full stack through self-directed learning, projects and mentorship.
  • Interest in learning and development and willingness to learn more about the field.
  • Solid relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively partner with cross functional colleagues and others across several functions.

You Have:

Measuring Success:

  • Within your first month, familiarize yourself with the product & engineering organization and our tech stack and attend Engineering Bootcamp.
  • Within your third month, begin building ongoing education programs tied to key business and technical objectives.
  • Within your sixth month, co-created and facilitated two to three new ongoing education courses and began rotating into the architecture scrum teams to learn more about our changes to our software and architecture.
