Senior Manager, Catalog Software Engineering

The Catalog software engineering team at Collibra is a team of builders around the world, characterized by a love for innovative technology, a desire to solve problems, and a never-ending goal to build a simple, elegant product that delights customers and simplifies all levels of data engagement. 

Guided by Agile principles, the Catalog software engineering team leads with confidence, knowing today’s problems require tomorrow’s solutions.

Senior Managers, Engineering's at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Leading and growing an inclusive, collaborative, and inspiring team
  • Bringing clarity on the team strategy, context, and company vision
  • Helping the team to set the right expectations with product managers, cross engineering teams, UX, and other stakeholders
  • Understanding the current and future architecture of our software stack
  • Leading the path towards a highly scalable, modular and API first architecture.

You Have:

  • A solid professional background as a software engineer and strong experience as an engineering manager working and/or leading with diverse team
  • Extensive knowledge of software development and engineering best practices
  • Defined and managed the delivery of software technology evolution roadmaps
  • Successfully delivered architectural evolution and refactoring initiatives
  • Experience with cloud-native SaaS and technology, as well with security, performance, resilience and scalability best practices

You Are:

  • Able to lead engineering teams by example and contribute to deliverables when needed
  • Effective and positive communicating with others by having great written and verbal English skills
  • Continually pursuing for best practices and trends and sharing them with the team
  • Ambitious to see your team growing in their career and able to mentor and coach team
  • Able to partner with architects and product managers to define technology and architecture evolution roadmaps, always keeping the value for the customer in mind when defining priorities
  • Experienced with cloud-native technologies as well as dealing with security, performance, resilience and scalability requirements

Measuring Success:

  • Within your first month, meet the team, get onboarded with Collibra products and practice areas and start leading your team’s Agile practice.
  • Within your third month, you will have a good understanding of the team, their challenges and priorities and, with the input from your engineering team and the architecture team,  you will have a high level view on the architectural vision for the Data Catalog product.
  • Within your sixth month, you will have a good understanding of the product, and be able to define, prioritize and lead the steps towards the strategic vision.
