Data Citizens of the world, unite!

SOCIAL Blog DC World

Our Data Citizens conference is just one week away, and I am excited to announce that we are sold out! Nearly 600 Data Citizens from around the world – Spain, Switzerland, Norway, Belgium, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, the UK, Costa Rica, Bermuda, Canada, and 31 different states from within the US – representing close to 200 companies are coming to New York for what continues to be the world’s largest gathering of data professionals. Everyone joining us next week is focused on transforming their businesses and delivering on strategic goals through better approaches to data. The number of different industries, titles, and passports making their way to the Conrad Hotel speaks to the importance of the opportunity we are all ready to jump on.

And it’s truly a community-sourced program – we partnered closely with our community of customers, partners, and thought leaders to learn what would be vital to hear and then put out a call for the most knowledgeable speakers in our network. Thanks to your input and contributions, the agenda is full to the brim with 40+ fantastic speakers who are willing to share their stories and insights on a wide range of exciting topics!

Speakers will hail from a variety of sectors, including financial services, utilities, telco, technology, retail, healthcare, and universities, providing deeper insights and perspectives on common data challenges shared across industries. For instance, our CEO Felix Van De Meale will be hosting an exciting panel with data leaders from Credit Suisse, KPMG, and Walmart who will all offer insight on how to capitalize on data to drive both new and existing business and to build a data-centric culture.

And the variety of topics that will be covered – strategic transformation, the era of AI, data in the cloud, and many more – is almost as buzzworthy as the speakers covering them!

Massy Mascaro, Technical Director of Applied AI at Google, will talk about how AI is revolutionizing many fields, driven by recent successes in applying deep learning to perceptual tasks and beyond.

Our new CISO Myke Lyons is hosting a panel on data privacy and will be joined on stage with speakers from Legal & General, Societe Generale, and Morgan Stanley to discuss why following the Cambridge Analytica scandal of 2018 organizations must stand out as leaders in data privacy in order to maintain consumer trust and gain a competitive advantage.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to choose from several track sessions to hear directly from our customers.

  • DNB, Norway’s largest financial services group, will outline their data journey
  • The Quicken Loans team will share their roadmap to data-enabled success
  • Tableau will discuss making data, analytics, and business intelligence more accessible at all levels of the organization

Attendees will even have the chance to become a product manager at the event through the “PM for a Day” sessions. Collibra’s Product Design Lead, Ann Wuyts, will drive the sessions, covering topics such as “Consumer-Oriented Navigation,” “How Data Classification Brings Catalog and Privacy Together,” and “The Catalog Experience: Catalog Home, Navigation and Search.”

Check out the complete agenda here.

Education and community are the main focus of the two days – but it’s also going to be a lot of fun! I am particularly excited about Collibra’s own DJ DC – his originally composed music will be playing during the event on the Main Stage, and he’s crafted a special, curated playlist for Wednesday evening’s cocktail reception.

Data Citizens marks Collibra’s biggest event of the year and has been a labor of love involving Collibrians across the globe. Our whole team is eager to meet new faces, to share knowledge and insight, and to see this event come to life. We look forward to seeing you there – and we hope you’re as excited as we are!
