You communicate as well with technology as with business stakeholders. You pride yourself in providing a self-service, production-ready data platform that keeps the lights on for the business’ data products.

As you will build out Collibra’s first data lake you will leverage your experience to lead our internal data infrastructure into state of the art, and help data teams across Collibra drive change through data.

Senior Data Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Continuously evolving our data platform into a self-service, production-ready data infrastructure for our business’ data products
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to ensure all required data is easily consumable by data teams in the business
  • Collaborate and support stakeholders (in Finance, Marketing, Product, Sales, …) to identify and plan new requirements for our data platform and data products.
  • Identify, design and implement internal process improvements to mature the way we work with data.

You Have:

  • 5+ years experience performing data and analytics projects related to business functions
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases, query authoring as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Experience with cloud-based data infrastructures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka.
  • Experience with Data pipeline tools like Airflow and dashboarding tools like Tableu or Redash.
  • Programming experience with object oriented languages like Python, Java, and/or Scala.

You Are:

  • Deeply technical, passionate, and analytical about the insights data can deliver
  • Process oriented as you know you can’t accelerate at scale without continuously improving processes
  • Process driven and familiar with supporting different types of stakeholders, and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • A strong communicator in English, both written and oral. You’ve applied those skills for technical and business audiences in the form of documentation and requirements.
  • Experienced at identifying, prioritizing, and getting buy-in for data opportunities within a large organization.

Measuring Success:

Reporting to Collibra’s Chief Technology Officer, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month, you will…

Familiarize yourself with the existing data platform by diving into the architecture, existing pipelines, identified requirements and stakeholders dependent on the platform.

  • Within your third month, you will…

Identify and plan improvements to the existing data platform, implement standards and best practices for data products and pipelines, implement monitoring, support users in their adoption and use of the data platform, leverage our CICD processes, improve our data engineering processes.

  • Within your sixth month, you will…

Be popular with data teams across the company as they benefit from the data pipelines you’ve built, the data they consume, the data tools added on top of the data platform that facilitates their analysis and self-service level.
