How you'll make an impact at Collibra:

As a core member of Scala team you will be responsible for automated processing of SQL code. Through syntactic and semantic analysis you will extract various dependencies from the code. 

Your work will have a positive impact on companies and developers maintaining a legacy codebase. A common scenario is that a Data Warehousing team in a larger enterprise company ends up with 1m+ lines of legacy SQL code. Value proposition and motto of the team is “We need 10 minutes to document 10 years of your development”.

A day in the life of a Scala Engineer at Collibra:

You’ll be reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, and will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Discuss technical solutions with your colleagues
  • Implement support for various SQL and no-SQL dialects
  • Modify grammar in parsers to support new syntax constructs
  • Implement algorithms for traversing AST tree to capture relevant dependencies and serialize it
  • Optimize overall software performance and get rid of bottlenecks
  • Participate in architectural design
  • Celebrate your successes!

You Have:

  • You're a Senior Developer with 4+ years of functional programming (e.g.,  Scala, Haskell or other relevant language)
  • You've a strong believe that functional programming is the way to go
  • You have experience or a theoretical knowledge regarding parsers and compilers is very welcomed 
  • You’ve a strong knowledge about SQL (strong preference)
  • You’re fully capable of working in English
  • You are a team player
  • You are disciplined, flexible and willing to learn and improve
  • You’re able to work independently
