News Update: Collibra Recognized for Third Consecutive Year in Gartner Market Guide
For the third year in a row, Collibra has been recognized in the May 2018 Gartner Market Guide for Information Stewardship Applications.
As mentioned in our recent announcement that was featured in Virtual Strategy Magazine, the critical need for information governance enforcement is propelling the growth in the market for information stewardship solutions to support this effort. The Gartner Market Guide examines various vendor solutions that share a common mission of anticipating how the market is evolving toward a purpose-built information stewardship solution.
As stated in the Gartner Market Guide, “Growth in the market for information stewardship applications is being disrupted by new technology capabilities in adjacent markets, such as data quality and metadata management, and new regulatory requirements, such as GDPR.”
Among the attributes evaluated for the Market Guide are the information model, business glossary, data quality monitoring and profiling, analytics, and more, all of which the report recognized Collibra for possessing.
“We are very pleased to be part of the Gartner Market Guide for Information Stewardship Applications again,” said Collibra CEO, Felix Van de Maele. “We believe our inclusion in this year’s report is a result of the continued dedication and focus Collibra puts on addressing information stewardship and data governance from a business user’s perspective. Having this complete set of capabilities, including a comprehensive data catalog, is essential for organizations to find, understand, and trust their data for business value.”
The report also discusses the notion that such Information Stewardship solutions must deliver these capabilities in an easy-to-use manner to enable any and all business roles to act as information stewards, which is something that has always been a priority in the mission of our platform.
