Bringing people together: a recap of Data Citizens ‘20

Each year, I look forward to our flagship Data Citizens event because I love connecting with our community, learning from others and sharing experiences. But this year things were different as we transitioned our annual event to a digital experience.

On June 30, we wrapped up the live content from our Data Citizens ‘20: A Digital Experience and launched our revamped Data Citizens community, bringing together thousands of data professionals to connect and learn. While this was not the event I imagined six months ago, I leave this week feeling inspired about what the future of data holds.

We kicked off the experience with a keynote presentation from our CEO Felix, who addressed the social and political unrest in the world and the ways in which we can come together as Data Citizens to drive meaningful change. We also launched our COVID-19 data catalog and heard from Guy Lehman of Walmart on operating in our current environment. We finished this day by announcing the winners of the 2020 Collibra Excellence Awards and I again want to congratulate Adrian Pearce at Credit Suisse, Albert Lalaj from Walmart, and teams from both Deloitte and T-Mobile who have been leading the charge towards Data Intelligence.

Over the next two days of the Digital Experience, Jim, our Chief Product Officer, launched the Collibra Data Intelligence Cloud and our Product leaders showcased our new offerings. We also heard from an amazing group of Data Citizens who talked through their Data Intelligence Journeys. Leaders from T-Mobile, Lockheed Martin, CoreLogic and Credit Suisse highlighted best practices and lessons learned. And through our Digital Experience, you can access these sessions and more by clicking on the on-demand viewing feature within the agenda. Sessions will be available here until August 1.

But most importantly, a recap of this event would not be complete without highlighting the launch of our Data Citizens community. For me, bringing people together is the most significant and impactful component of this annual event. That is why we are excited to provide a new year-round virtual community where you can extend your Data Citizens experience. On the new community, Data Citizens can:

  • Connect with fellow data citizens and the Collibra team
  • Engage in discussions and share best practices
  • Participate in challenges and earn exciting rewards

We encourage you to join the new community to continue your experience from Data Citizens ‘20. The new community will also sponsor opportunities and resources to help Data Citizens on their journey to Data Intelligence.

Following Data Citizens ‘20, we are hosting a webinar series that features presenters from this year’s digital experience. The Data Citizens Spotlight Series kicks off this coming Tuesday, July 7 at 10:00am EDT with the team at Southwest Airlines. We encourage you to register for this new series to engage with and ask questions to some of this year’s presenters.

I hope that you enjoyed Data Citizens ‘20: A Digital Experience, and that you’ll continue to learn and share year-round in our online community!
